  1. Online adjunct faculty?

Hi OkieNp! I did for a few sessions. It was very tough! I ended up doing a lot of work after bedtime, or while my husband watched the kids. It was very labor intensive, and I am not doing it any more.
  2. Combined DNP and WHNP?

To clarify- A DNP is a degree, it's only been very recently that certain universities is co-mingling specialized studies as a part of the actual DNP, verses combining a post- Master's certificate with the DNP coursework.
  3. Combined DNP and WHNP?

I'm still looking for options... I think that U of MN's program looks amazing, but it requires a bit more on campus time per semester than I can likely handle, being in CT with two small children. I'm also very interested in Frontier. Am I missing...
  4. Wow! That IS Inspiring, Adg! I have two children, 3.5 & 11 months, and I'm wishing to get a postmasters certificate in Midwifery with the DNP.
  5. Combined DNP and WHNP?

Has anyone here attended school at either University of MN or University of South Alabama? They both offer a combined DNP with WHNP, which just might entice me to go back for the doctorate. Alternatively, does anyone know of other combined DNP/WHNP ...

So excited for you all! I have wanted to go to Frontier since 2003; got my RN in 2002 and relocated to CT from MI in 2004- worked in a high risk L&D and fell out of my passion due to the surroundings of Med-wives and high intervention that bumm...
  7. Hi all- So this is a topic near and dear to me. I became a RN with the goal of becoming a CNM (back in 2002) and once I relocated to CT with my hubby changed my plans to becoming a FNP, which I did in 2008. I am pregnant with my second child who is...
  8. Online adjunct faculty?

Hi all- I am a FNP with my MSN looking to start teaching some online courses, perhaps undergrad, maybe grad, at my alma mater. I started looking at this option as I have a 2.5 yr old and a new son on the way, due in about 5 weeks. I would love to ...
  9. FNP vs. WHNP

Good morning, I was in your wxact same boat dear. I ultimately became a FNP, and Am actually interviewing for an OBGYN position in 2 days. You are wise to understand that a FNP brings you more prospects in the job market, as you can work in many ot...

Wow-- really?? No one else is as motivated by this as I am to at least discuss it??
  11. Doctorate in Nurse-Midwifery?

I am not seeing where it is catered to midwifery vs a standard DNP in particular... am i missing something?
  12. Doctorate in Nurse-Midwifery?

Yes-- I actually just emailed Sharon at Frontier to see if there was a way to combine the DNP and the post masters cert in midwifery-- i am a FNP already, and think that if I am to return to school for midwifery ( which I really want to do! ) I also ...
  13. Consumer directed advertising for pharms

Sorry to be persistent, but I am not willing to accept that theory. I think they are/their methods are despicable and I'd like to hear from other who feel the same. Thank you!
  14. Consumer directed advertising for pharms

Given that fact that up until recently NP's couldnt sign for samples in office from pharm companies, and many dr's tend to really seem to work well with the pharm companies: speaking for honorariums, trips, and all the perks that many received and ha...
  15. Consumer directed advertising for pharms

ARGH! Isnt anyone else completely aggravated with the consumer directed advertising from the pharmaceutical companies?? I just saw a commercial for "Heavy Monthly Bleeding" with the advice to go to their website lighterperiod.com for more info, and...
