  1. Using Propofol for sedation on vented pts?

We use propofol pretty regularly on my unit and (as far as I know) haven't had a case of propofol infusion syndrome. My question is, why do patients develop blue/green urine? I'm going to hop on uptodate and see what I can find out . . .
  2. UMASS Boston RN-BSN Online update

Hi ladies! I graduated from the UMass RN-BSN program this past May, although I did the program through UMass Amherst, not Boston. It went really well and really quickly! Feel free to PM me if you have any questions I could maybe help you with! -Ru
  3. On-line RN-BSN or MSN programs

*waves* Hi! I'm in an online program right now actually through UMass Amherst. It's the best deal I could find, being a resident of Mass, it costs me roughly 10k total, and it's three semesters. I started this past June and I'm done this May (woot...
  4. Heard of American Mobile Healthcare

Hi guys! Wow, I feel like I found this thread just in time, lol! I have an application to American mobile that I've been filling out over the past couple of days, but all these comments are giving me serious pause. I'm a newbie nurse too (I've bee...
  5. cRNA programs and BSN?

Hi all! I currently have an ADN, and my long term goal is to go to cRNA school. I've been told by several people that it doesn't matter where I get my BSN from, just so long as my grades are really good. I'm looking into a program at UMass Amherst...

  7. Welcome nurses from Massachusetts!

Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I'm a 21 year old new grad and I started work over at Milford Regional about two weeks ago and I'm having a great time. I was wondering however, if anybody has heard of Cheshire Medical Center in Keene, N...
  8. Where to work in Sydney?

Hi all - I have a friend here in Boston who is hoping to do a travel stint as an ICU RN in Australia. Any suggestions as to which hospitals she should ask for? Here the usual ICU assignment is one or two - is it the same down there? Thanks in advance...
  9. Nursing & Depression

Couple of studies I've seen reported, one from Israel, all with significant improvements on the HAM-D thing. I was impressed enough to try it, and I was surprised that it seemed to actually work. One guy at Harvard named Andrew Stoll has gone commerc...
  10. Nursing & Depression

Hello sister nurses. Let me recommend the "psychopharmacology tips" website to y'all. Once there, take a look at the Psycho-Babble bulletin board. Here's a link: http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/ - just scroll down to find the discussion. Lots of intere...
  11. Self Study to learn ICU nursing???!?!

I wouldn't even consider it - we give our RN orientees three months, sometimes extended to four. In the meantime, may I respectfully suggest: http://www.icufaqs.org? Entirely free. And worth the price!

Hello all. A new file: "Labs", is up on the micu faq site at http://www.icufaqs.org. Let us know what you think. All the best.
  13. Hello all. We've been receiving some interest in having the FAQs (http://www.icufaqs.org) put together in book form, and after some looking around we've learned a bit about "print-on-demand". This seems pretty simple - a person would click on a websi...
