  1. A-fib + metropolol + diltiazem gtt + soft bp

In my opinion, I would've given the Metop despite the Soft BP in the mid-90's, Metop in my experience contains more of a rate controlling beta effect than a BP changer. Don't get me wrong, Metop can drop a pressure, but no too terribly low. Remembe...
  2. I am a very young nurse. Will my patients be frightened?

This is too funny! I remember when I was an LPN, I was 19 when I completed my training program. Prior to that, I was a nursing assistant from the time I was 18. I am currently an RN at the ripe old age of 23! Your patients will not fear you if yo...

  9. Traveling to Virginia

I just drove from Springfield, MO back to Richmond, which was a 16 hour drive. If you do not like night driving, leave fairly in the morning. Get out and enjoy the scenry. That is my tip. It took me a good 17 hours to make it home, however, it hel...

Thank you all for your responses, it helps a lot! :)
  11. Augusta Medical Center vs. UVa Medical Center

Hi! Good luck with your journey. With what you are looking for, I would go with UVA. It doesn't make a bit of difference if you are an AD or BSN prepared nurse. The only difference is a few dimes. In regards to housing: craigslist! That's how ...
  12. MUSC Trauma Unit

"I respect your desire to work in a busy unit. But I question your reasons. Seeking out the trauma and the very ill patient seems to me that you may have a need for attention and a little bit of a "hero" complex. If you are looking for a specialty be...
  13. UVA new grad job

Hi! Good luck with your interviews. I have been working at University Hospital since the beginning of summer. Dependant upon the unit, I have had a great orientation period. They are very flexable with the scheduling. At least in my area. The in...

Hello everyone, I was wanting to know if anyone could offer any advice in handling this issue. I have been working on a step-down/acute care floor specializing in Cardiacthoracic and Vascular surgery. In the past month (only working there for a month...
