About JoshuaC

I live in a small town that is just big enough not to be completely boring. There are a lot of good people here though, and right now I wouldn't rather be anywhere else. As far as hobbies go I play music (guitar, mandolin, piano) and exercise often

  1. 80% on 2nd test....BAH BAH!!!

80% isn't too bad... Is there anything else you can do in your class to bring it up? Like quizes or something? What pissed me off is that I studied a lot more than some people in my class and I got an 86% on my test and some of them got just as goo...
  2. A&P1 vs A&P2

Usually in combined A&P classes, like I and II, it doesn't really get progressivly harder, but maybe to certain people certain systems of the body are harder to learn (such as endocrine vs. cardiac, ect..). You see for me I took pre-med anatomy a...
  3. Alright, we just had our first test and I got an 86.. I'm not really complaining about that, although I did mark some stupid answers and should have got an A, but I guess I deserve the 86 for my stupidity.. Anyway, my gripe is with study habits and...
  4. I got a 78% on my first exam.

In our school an 85% is the lowest you can have and still have a B. So on the test you can only miss 7 questions out of 50 and still get a B. We took our first test today and I know I missed at least 3, and probably at least 4, and maybe a couple m...
  5. Drug guide --- Mosby's vs. Davis's?

I have Mosby's 2007 edition.. It looks pretty good to me. We havn't started using it yet though. If you hear good things about both, and your school doesn't have a preference, then I'd go with the less expensive one.
  6. MATH...& I'm scared ...uhhh

So far our math questions have been super easy, such as, if a doctor orders 5mg of X and all you have are 10mg tabs of X, how many tabs do you give? It would be 1/2 of a tab.... Stuff like that. I'm guessing the harder questions are going to start ...
  7. Sleep, anyone??

Three nights ago I got about 4 hours of sleep, two nights ago I got 3 hours of sleep, and last night I got about 6 hours. Yeah, I know, that's pretty bad. I'm the kind of guy who needs 7-8 minimum. I can function well on little sleep, but I don't ...
  8. Study more than I did last semester... Have more fun.
  9. Can I Get In To Nursing W/3.0?

Of course you can get in with a 3.0 if you hit the right circumstances. It's certainly not going to be the best GPA out of everyone who applys, but it certainly won't be the worst. Good luck.
  10. Finding time to workout during school?

Diet has a lot to do with how well you maintain your body comp. or how well you lose weight, gain weight, ect.. So keep in mind that diet is far more important than exercise, although exercise is still very important. As far as lifting weights goes,...
  11. Best Drug guide?

Our school is using Mosby's 2006 or 2007. I've got the 2007 edition.
  12. I'm not sure what I should wear for my first day of orientation into nursing school. I had planned on just wearing some shorts, tennis shoes, and a button-up shirt with the sleeves rolled up (it is summer outside). I kind of want to be casual, but ...
  13. My first day of orientation is this upcoming Monday. As far as I know for clinicals we are going to have to wear uniforms, but I'm not sure how to dress for regular class as it was never mentioned to me by my dean. I figured since it's summer I mig...
  14. Share your best Study Skills!!!

Re-read the information right after you get out of class as to retain it better. Read the chapters prior to class. Study a little every night as to avoid having to cram a week before the test. Don't try to memorize, try to retain. If the material...
  15. I'm already stressed out

Don't stress just yet. Plus I'm sure you won't be the only person missing some books.
