HOLY MOLY! 29,000 for an LPN program!!!!! Eeeek! Mine was only 9,000!!!!! Seriously, if you are going to spend 29,000 on an LPN program you would be better off investing it in an RN program. I have only been an LPN for 2 years, but it is honestly...

Every college is different with how they work their LPN-RN programs. But being an LPN does give you an advantage, I think. You already have some clinical experience behind you, and some schooling. It's giving me the opporitunity that I should have ...

If you are thinking of investing that much money in an LPN program, then invest it in an RN program. The opporitunities, not to mention the pay are much better.
Getting into CVCC is just like any other nursing program. It's competitive. You have to take an entrance exam, the "work keys" test.. which I thought was basically to test your common sense.. Then you have to follow their protocol.
I went through the full time (9 month) program. It was a very good program in my opinion, and the instructors were wonderful. I don't care what nursing program you go into, LPN, RN... whatever, I don't think you are truly ever 100% prepared to hand...
I've been an LPN for almost 2 years now and I work on a rehab floor in a hospital.. down there we function alot differently.. I'm not you're regular, "med-surg" working the floor kind of nurse. On my floor the LPN is basically a helping hand to the ...
I am an LPN with 2 years experience, I currently work on a rehab floor in a community hospital. I work the weekend program, which has it's perks and it's downfalls.. I have an opporitunity to take a new position working for a women's health office...
Just curious.. why don't you try to find a more stable position working at a hospital or a nursing home, assisted living, doctor's office.. That pay cut does not sound worth it to me. If I were you I would stick with what you're doing or look for so...

This is the truth: Some of these RN's wouldn't be able to function, nor provide GOOD patient care if it wasn't for the LPNs. It's amazing how RNs think they OWN the nursing practice, when the majority of them can not even provide patient care proper...

Okay... this is a touchy subject. There are so many things that LPN's can NOT do. Where I work, I as a LOWLY LPN, yes, an LPN.. do assessments everyday. Please tell me what is so hard about it? Why would it be a task that can be RN only? Give me a b...
I'm going to be completely honest with you. Go straight for the RN! You will be glad you did! I'm currently an LPN that is desperately trying to inch my way through school and get that high and mighty RN behind my name. While I am grateful for th...

I'm a newer LPN (7 months and going strong! woo hoo!) and I agree. Even the short time that I've been in the field. I don't have alot of self esteem as it is... but working with certain RN's (the one's who think they need to be "super nurse") real...
I myself am an LPN, and I am a little bit offended that one of the posters to this thread referred to an LPN being a part of a vocation.... I'm not a nun. I'm a Lisenced Practical NURSE. Last I checked, a NURSE is a professional! I went to school ...
