PixxieDust has 17 years experience as a LVN.
I have been an LVN for 13 plus years and have enjoyed most of it. I have decided recently to go to school for my RN and hammering through prerequisites now. Being an LVN has had its ups and downs for sure. Overall it is a noble and good profession. One that doesn't get the respect it deserves for reasons most of you know about. I have had to really bite my tongue. The reason for going for my RN is more doors will open to me and I want to continue doing what I am doing. I know that once I get my RN I will NEVER treat an LVN the way I have been treated at times! Some were awesome and some were just the opposite. But I LOVE being a nurse and caring for people. I have been a caretaker in many respects my whole life and can't imagine anything different.
