About RachealAnne

RachealAnne has 2 years experience.

I am currently in college working through my prerequisites, almost done! I worked in medsurg/ortho for 1 1/2 years as a CNA for my first nursing assistant job. I just landed a job in the NICU. I am now working towards aesthetics, I learned the hospital is not for me AND THATS OKAY! My goal is to become an aesthetics nurse, and I am SO excited for what comes next. Have a beautiful day!

  1. Working as a CNA during pre-requisites

Well it all depends on what you can handle, my first and second semester I was working full time as a CNA and taking 4 classes. My third and fourth semester up to now I am taking 2-4 classes and working part time (just my pre-reqs). I had to re-take ...
  2. Failed last semester and it hurts

Breathe, give yourself time to be upset, but with that being said EVERYTHING good or bad happens for a reason. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, go back and kick some booty if that's really your dream career. You can do it.
  3. Realizing that Nursing is Not for Me

Hey there! Fear not. Sometimes nursing is really not for everyone. BUT that being said I think there is something out there for almost everyone. I myself am not one for adult nursing/CNAing I found out, and that's OKAY. Not everyone is. I just landed...

  5. Hospitals that hire new grads

I am willing to relocate after graduation, I will graduate with my associates and most likely finish my bsn online. Does anyone know of any hospitals that hire new grads (feel free to pm me) so atleast I know ahead of time where to start considering....
  6. Is it just me?

Hello there! I don't know if this helps or means anything since I only start my prerequisites this fall and am only a CNA (just saying that in terms of I haven't been through the tough stuff school wise) BUT just remember that the 2-4 years you are ...
  7. Do Nurses really make "good money?"

My cousins wife is a new grad (ASN) in the ER and she makes 40+ dollars an hour. She is in Sacramento though, so the living expense is pricey.
  8. WHY do so many people hate nursing? Sigh.

Thank you for more responses! It is refreshing to hear all sides, good and bad. I am still looking forward to going to nursing school and becoming the best nurse I can be. You guys are awesome, seriously.
  9. Classroom CNA student

Read out of the book, did power points, quizzes, workbook questions, video clips and worked in the skills lab each day we had class. My course was 3 months; 2 days a week 4 hours classes.
  10. Family Maternity Center CNA

Thank you! I should be hearing this week or early next week on whether or not I got it :) crossing my fingers!

  12. WHY do so many people hate nursing? Sigh.

I don't think nurses MUST love their job to be a good nurse, it was just general curiosity on why or what they didn't like about it. Thank you for wishing me luck and your honest response (:
  13. WHY do so many people hate nursing? Sigh.

I pretty much love this comment. Thank you for your honest response.
  14. Any Idaho pre-nursing students?

Well the community college I'm going into is only a AS program after my pre-req's. As much I would like to go to a university I cant afford it, and plus community colleges are just as good. After I graduate I will get my BSN online in a 15 month prog...
