  1. angioseal

Thanks Aggie! I don't know about PACU, but we do have a recovery room for heart cath patients. I believe it is utilized more for the outpatient versus inpatient.
  2. angioseal

Our cath lab started using angioseals. They bring the patient up to us then cut the suture and remove the clamp. We have had several complications with bleeding from these. We also have recently received two patients from the cath lab after "faile...

No, we still treat them as a critical patient until a bed is ready. I would rather be able to treat them as a non-critical patient especially when you have 3 patients to take care of.

  8. CCU - Removal of Femoral Sheath by Registered Nurses

We pull femoral sheaths where I work. The policy varies as far as the way in which you pull the line. Manual, Compressar, and Femostops are what we use. On our standing orders there are paramaters that have to be met in order to pull the lines. F...
  9. CCU respect

Our CCU is in quite a large hospital. About three years ago we moved from a regular unit setup to an actual critical care setting. We now accept more critically ill patient with balloon pumps, vents, etc... Even though we have changed, our image a...
