I have to submit my requests for senior practicum tomorrow and I am so torn between Med/Surg and Emerg. I have weighed the pros and cons and they seem quite equal. I think that Med/Surg you will get better time management and a better introduction to drugs rather then in emerg. Any opinions PLEASE!!!!!

Feb 1, '12 by 86711lhI think you are correct, med-surg, in my opinion would be better. I have worked in an emergency room as a nursing assistant and from what I've seen, patients come in and for the most part they run a bunch of tests most of the time til they figure out what is wrong(unless they are a trauma) and they either keep them if it's serious or send them home if it's not, so for learning purposes, I would chose med/surg myself.
