Does your Hospital do this?

This is just a general hospital question and I didn't know where to put this...

On Christmas Day, was your hospital cafeteria closed? They did nothing but sandwiches for lunch and dinner, and packaged cereals for breakfast; but totally CLOSED for the staff and patients family members????!!!! AND the only food in town was 1 Waffle House restaurant 2 miles away that ONLY takes cash...I felt SOOOOOO bad for the patients family members, not only haveing to find another place to eat, but having to run to the bank and get cash cause waffle house doesn't take checks/credit...

BTW: today is 12/26, and most of our hospital departments are closed!!! Nuclear Med, CT...only on call for emergencies???

are other hospitals this lame?

Our hospital gave the staff free meals on Christmas Day. For lunch or/and dinner they served us free prime rib, potatoes, veggies, bread and either apple or pumpkin pie and cookies.

Our facility (ALF) served a traditional Christmas meal for lunch (turkey and such), and had brown-bag sandwich meals set up for dinner (sandwich, chips, cookie and a drink. Those kitchen ladies were sure in a hurry to get out of there too! They locked up the kitchen by 2 PM, and instructed us to put the bag lunches in each person's fridge so they could eat it at their leisure that evening. We had a LOT of residents going out to eat with family or returning from eating with family so this worked out pretty well.
