Carotid endarterectomy

Hi everyone! I haven'y logged in in a while, but it's sure nice to come back. I'm a new nurse. I've worked 3 months on a Med-Surg Floor that delt with some pneumonias, TB, and just some general common diagnoses. Then I worhed 2 months on an LTAC floor. I have now obtained a position on the Vascular Med-Surg floor and I would like to get a head start in knowing the post-op care is for carotid endarterectomies. Apparently this floor has alot of them. Can somebody fill me in?

Thanks!
