Big Hospital to Small Hospital

Has anyone gone from working in a big hospital to working in a smaller facility? In the big hospital you have so many resources to call for help and in a smaller facility they don't have an IV team, 24 hour pharmacy, code team, etc. I would love to hear how the transition went for someone that went from large to small hospital.

Well in some ways it is easier. You patients may not be as sick because the very ill are transferred out to centers that can provide a higher a level of care. But you have to learn to do a lot of stuff for your self because you don't have as many resources. The positive thing is that you get to know everyone and it is like being part of a family. So there are positives and negatives to both. I have worked in both and I like both for different reasons.
