Section I

I have recently started a new job where I am now responsible for section I. I have no training on ICD9 codes and any cheat sheets or help anyone can offer will be greatly appreciated!!!

Hello ocdmds, in my facility we have a medical records person who does the majority of the ICD 9 coding for diagnosis. You should be able to use the resident's face sheet that medical records provides for your coding needs. From what I understand of doing MDSs for a little over a year the diagnosis has to be part of the medical record for the resident. I hope this helps.
