Plavix coding in MDS

  1. 0 Was having a discussion on this with a coworker. In my understanding Plavix is an antiplatlet medicagtion so we would then not code it as an anticoagulant in the MDS. If anyone could put some input on this I would appreciate it.
    Thanks

Find out what the generic name for Plavix is, then read the coding instruction for Anticoagulant in N-6.

If you look in the RAI manual it actually states that plavix is a noncodeable anticoag. I know because I was coding it until I needed to look at the manual and there it was!
