I have been with current company for 13 years as an MDS Coordinator. My coworker just retired and they hired a new coordinator. I have just found out that she will be making around $10,000 more than me. Should I leave the company or should I ask for a raise?
MDS coordinators are one of the most employable positions in a LTC facility, as it requires a special skill set which you probably already realize having been in the business. That being said, I was given a two dollar an hour raise without question when I was looking at applying elsewhere. Most employers would be willing to work out a new wage than lose a valuable employee, especially when trying to fill a position like an MDS coordinator.
