LTC case load

Hi.

Would you folks give me a little feedback on the number of long term care residents that make up a full time MDS coordinator's load. She would be responsible for daily order update of care plans, RAPS, coordinating and locking MDS and running resident care plan meetings.

Thanks.

Trying to be fair.

I would say about 80 residents, with 10-20 of them being skilled.

I am new all the way around---LTC and MDS--for 6 months now. After about 6 weeks I was give the non-skilled load. That is 110 residents over three units. I spent countless hours the first four months but now am close to 40 hours--salaried of course.

I am doing it and I just spent two days at a conference for formal training. My manager taught me from the manual about about how to answer questions. I am keeping above water but I am afraid that I am not doing the facility the justice that they deserve.

The regulators are expected in the building any day. Oh my.....
