Exclusions for Antipsychotic meds

  1. 0 Can someone tell me which dx/MDS coding will exclude a resident from triggering on the QMs for antipsychotic meds without a diagnosis? I know it is Huntingtons, Tourettes, Schizophrenia, hallucinations, delusions and psychotic disorder. What about paranoia? Bipolar? Are there any others? Thanks for the info.

Stay tuned. CMS is changing the diagnoses it feels are appropriate for antipsychotic use. Schizophrenia and Tourette's. No more dementia with psychotic features, hallucinations, or delusions.
