COT assessment

  1. I was taught that if a resident RUGS down I do not have to do a COT with a scheduled assessment (14 day, 30day, 60day...) I only need to do a COT on a check point day if their RUG level changes or if they RUG up then I need to do a COT with a scheduled assessment like a 30 day. Is this the correct information? Thanks

    That is correct.

If the COT ARD is 1/14, the low RUG payment begins on 1/8. If a 14-Day window begins on 1/14, the COT need not be combined. The lower RUG will begin payment on 1/15.

Using the same dates above, if the RUG score is higher, you will do a standalone COT. If the COT falls on the same window as the 14-day, you will combine the assm't. The high RUG will begin payment on 1/8.

Correct. That is how I was taught as well.
