Nov 1, '11 by TalinoIf the resident is incompetent, the regs §483.20(k) require you to involve the resident's family, a surrogate, or a representative in the development of the care plan.
This does not necessarily have to be a formal face-to-face meeting w/ the team, but a note to have notified/invited them to one, is beneficial. Documented ongoing communication (by telephone, email, direct interaction during visits) w/ the resident's designee regarding the care provided and soliciting their input is evidence of their involvement.PsychNurseWannaBe likes this.
