by TillyLaces Dec 12, '11Is there anyone out there applying to the direct entry MSN program at Simmons? I will be attending the program beginning this summer (2012). I went to Simmons for my undergrad, so I've been living in Boston for 6 years and am well-aquainted with the area. I currently live in Brighton (about a 15 minute drive from the campus). I would love to talk to anyone applying to the program!!!!

- Jan 12, '12 by halebaleI'm applying to the Simmons Direct Entry MSN beginning this summer! I'm actually going to the info session tonight!
I've already applied to MGH, and I'm applying to Northeastern and UMASS in Worcester. Fortunately the Simmons deadline isn't until Feb 1, so I still have some time to fix up my essay.
The annoying thing about Simmons is they have crazy Chem requirements it seems! I'm gonna have to apply w/ chem outstanding, cause all I've taken is an intro to inorganic chem, and I don't even think THAT will count for their inorganic chem requirement. - Jan 25, '12 by TillyLacesQuote from halebaleHow was the info session???I'm applying to the Simmons Direct Entry MSN beginning this summer! I would also love to hear about the info session!
FYI, I talked to someone in the admissions office and they said that 2 semesters of general chemistry would cover the organic and inorganic chem requirements. - Feb 25, '12 by TillyLaceswpolorocker,
I'm glad that the admissions office said two semesters of gen chem would suffice. It's sort of strange actually; Simmons doesn't offer a "gen chem II". As an undergrad you take gen chem and orgo I as a freshman, Orgo II and QA as a sophomore. When I was applying to other schools I was worried I would have to take an actual gen chem II if the orgo didn't count as a second semester of chemistry. Have you heard from any schools yet? Do you have a first choice? Best of luck!!!
Chantelle - Feb 25, '12 by wpolorockerI have heard back from some schools. Penn was my first choice and I was rejected, but I got into Marquette, which was one of my top choices. I put in my deposit there already.
- Feb 28, '12 by hale.baleOh jeez I'm sorry it took me so long to respond to this thread. The info session was fine! A lot of information, mostly what is already on the internet, but they waive the application fee if you attended. I haven't heard anything yet from Simmons. I had an interview w/ Northeastern last Friday, but haven't heard anything from 2 other schools.
- Mar 12, '12 by hale.baleHas anybody heard back from Simmons? I received an email that my application wasn't yet complete, and I needed to submit 2 more transcripts. I've been waiting on getting those so I can send them into the program. They said they will close all incomplete files on Monday 3/19. So my guess is after that date decisions will soon be sent out.
