Published

Hello, Im starting this post for RN students with or without non nursing bachelor degree who are planning to apply for the bridge RN-NP program in Massachusetts.

Im thinking Boston College, Regis College, MGH IHP and Salem State U so far ....

Hope I get in somewhere as I dont want to have a BSN.

Specializes in Adult Internal Medicine.

Simmons, MGH, and BC should be the top choices.

Specializes in Neuro/NSGY, critical care, med/stroke/tele.

If you're not already an RN (it's not clear from your post/SN), just be aware that most places here you would not be able to get acute care/hospital experience as an RN without a BSN. So if you were planning to work part time as a nurse to get some experience/build a professional network after RN licensure while you finish out the masters, the direct entry programs can make it tough.

Thank you but Simmons is 100% online and Im not comfortable with that. BCc is my top choice so far and Im also looking at Uconn or out of state (new england) universities.

Im a licensed practical nurse since 2014 who works in a psych hospital , I think I wll have quite some experience under my belt by the time of grad school interview. I dont think ASN-NP is the direct entry program. DE programs are for those who consider nursing as their second career. Im already a nurse, with a bachelor in sociology who didnt want to do the accelerated BSN and went the PN route....

I really wouldn't recommend Regis College. As BostonFNP stated, BC, MGHIHP, and Simmons are all top tier schools who provide an excellent education.

Simmons has a brick and mortar program that has one of the best reputations in the local and national arena

The brick and mortar at Simmons is only FNP. I will stick to MGH and BC, thanks
