Info on South Shore Hospital

U.S.A. Massachusetts

Published

I don't know if someone already posted this topic before, but anyone have any info on South Shore Hospital??? Thanks.

South Shore Hospital is a very busy community hospital. They have maternity and medical surgical nursing. They also have a very active homecare department.

The pay is good for a community hospital.

I know that hospital! It's in Weymouth not that far from me....I have heard both good & bad.........so I personally don't have any experience there. My sister had surgery there & really liked it, I know a nurse who used to work there in the special care nursery who said the nurses were crazy there ( maybe she just meant the ones she worked with).

I have heard good things about Quincy Medical Center..the subsidiary of Boston Medical Center......There is also Jordan Hospital in Plymouth off rte 3 they are a magnet hospital...and Brockton Hospital which is good in Brockton......they pay the most for hospitals outside of Boston from what I've been told..............good luck if you are asking with regards to job hunting....;)

Thank you all! :) Yeah...still job hunting...:uhoh3: it's driving me up the wall!!! :banghead:

Don't feel bad about the job hunt. I'm in the same boat. Here, i live 5 minutes from Boston and will probably end up driving 40 miles to work just to have a job-Aaaagh!

Honestly? I have applied to Brigham and Womens, Beth Israel, Metro West Medical Center, Newton Wellesley, Mount Auburn, Emerson, Mass General, Beverly Hospital, Faulkner Hospital, Saint E's, NEMC and geez, I think that might be it. I cannot believe how hard it is to get a job as a new grad. It is SO discouraging.

I agree with you 100% maledi. I don't understand why it is so difficult...it is very discouraging...:o

Hey I also just remembered Franciscan CH and how about Caritas in Dorchester...Carney Hospital............and Spaulding Rehab?

My friend who is a nurse in home care has a sister who works in B&W..she says you have to pretty much know someone to get in there.

Well...I applied again today for an available med/surg position at Mass General...and a friend gave me a contact number for HR...i guess they are still looking for new grads. Anyone have info on Mass General????

Hi all. Just bumping...I've really ran out of luck looking in the Boston area. I found out that there is an open house on Sept. 13...so I'm definitely going to it. Anyone have information on the hospital, like pay? Nurse patient ratio, especially on med/surg?? This is the area I want to go into for now. Thanks again.

ETA: sorry...still talking about South Shore Hospital..:)
