Did you get this letter from Roxbury CC?

Hi everyone. I applied to RCC for Fall 2012 Day program. Today I received a letter accepting me into the college for Fall. However it reads

"This is not an acceptance letter into the Radiologic Tech or Nursing Programs. If you have applied and have been accepted into one of these programs you will receive a separate letter of acceptance..."

Ugh talk about a tease!! My question is for those of you who got into the nursing program in the past, did you get this same type of letter?? I don't know what to make of it. Is it a positive sign? Or a negative sign?

It is not any kind of sign. The letter is exactly what it says it is. It is a confirmation letter telling you that you have been accepted as a student at RCC. Not every student applies to the Nursing program or the Radiologic Tech programs which is why the letter then goes on to tell you that IF you have also applied to one of those programs when you applied for admission to the school, you will receive a separate letter informing you if you are accepted to the program.

I agree with you that it is a tease.... unfortunately it is a necessary tease, because not everyone is accepted into college, so they do need to let you know that your accepted into the college before they can tell you if you are accepted into a program.

So it looks like the wait continues..... Good Luck!!!

Ok, so the question is, if I ONLY applied to the nursing program (which it reads on the app: ONLY check one program), and I don't get into the nursing program,,,what program AM I in? Would it just be considered a general ed or something?

I would check with the school to be certain but I am pretty sure that you are considered a Health Careers student.

I went on the website for Roxbury CC and looked at their application form. The section of the application where you check off the academic program you are interested in has "Nursing (ADN) 1,2,4

#4 say "Students who select Nursing (ADN), Practical Nursing (PN), and Radiologic Technology will be placed into the Health Careers Program while they are

completing their pre-requisites or formally accepted into one of these programs."

So have you finished your pre-req classes AND have you taken the entrance exam (RCC uses the TEAS)?

Yes, took the TEAS and no, I haven't finished pre-reqs yet, but just thought I would take a chance and apply anyway. Did you apply to RCC as well??

No I have not applied anywhere yet. I have to wait until the end of this semester. The day my classes end then I will be applying to Quincy College FT ADN program because the deadline for the fall 2012 program was extended to may 15th
