Curry Accel BSN- April 1st deadline

U.S.A. Massachusetts

Published

Hello!! I am looking heavily into applying for Curry's accel program. Is there anyone out there that has attended the program or is applying this year for the April 1st deadline?

Thanks, I am out of state so can't attend an info session.

Hi there and congrats! I was accepted as well and am beyond excited and eager to get started. I cannot find the group on FB though??

I really think that the essay holds a lot of weight. I had an undergrad gpa of 3.8 and a 4.0 in all the prerequisites. I was currently in Chemistry when I submitted my application and registered for microbiology for summer session 1 (now completed). I felt really good about my essay which was pretty passionate and touched upon some personal experiences which guided me into the direction of nursing. I clearly remember them saying at the info session that the essay is so very important. Good luck to everyone wait listed or applying next year.

Congratulations to you, Juliab. The facebook group is located here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/447772131916374/

I was just wondering if anyone who had already applied to Curry knew if the application essay is supposed to be single spaced or double spaced. It doesn't specify on the website. It just says one page typed.

Thanks for your help.

I will give you my two cents. I applied last year....waitlisted :( I had the same question and since there were no instructions about it on the application, I double-spaced and used times roman 12pt. I could barely provide any information at all. After the deadline passed, I learned that many people single-spaced and I was kicking myself. I am reapplying and updated my personal statement. This time I used single spacing and was able to include much more information. I could be wrong, but I think the lack of completeness in my personal statement last year hurt me. My advice to you is single-space. I managed to keep it one page with times roman 11.5pt and 0.9 margins.

I do not recall if they specified whether it should be single- or double-spaced. However, I can tell you that the essay I wrote was single-spaced. With only one page, I found it difficult to fit all I wanted to convey, even with single-spacing.

PennyS, I just sent you a message.
