Anyone from Regis College?

Hi Jennifer,
Thank you so much for your advice! I want to Private message but I do not have access to that option yet :) I think my interview went really well. You are right, everyone is so nice!
I was just wondering if (when you had a chance) you could elaborate on the BSN portion of your program and what you liked (or disliked).
Although I am jumping the gun as I have not received a letter, I was wondering if I should sign up for a CPR course on my own time, or if this is something they offer or recommend a specific course.
I also wondered what courses you found to be extra challenging and how you addressed that ( how did you study, are there tutors available)

As for what I liked and disliked about the BSN portion. I LOVED the clinicals...you will without a doubt have some amazing experiences there. You are put in a variety of settings and get to do hands on stuff basically from day one. I also have found professors very helpful, which I appreciate! I'm sure you found this in a couple of your undergraduate and pre-req classes too, but what I most disliked was busy work. At the graduate level I feel that there is no need for busy work in classes, but in most classes there was still one or two assignments that I felt wouldn't really help me in my nursing career and just took up too much of my time for what they were worth.

When you're accepted they send you material over the summer that describes the CPR class requirements. Sneak peek: you do take it on your own time over the summer (I don't remember the deadline exactly) and it has to be from the American Heart Association and be specifically a BLS for the Healthcare Provider course. There are plenty of classes around though so you shouldn't have a problem.

Med-Surg (second semester, first year) and Complex Care (first semester, second year) were my two hardest classes in the BSN portion. I definitely put in a little extra time studying, but I also found a study buddy that I met with once or twice a week for a few hours at a time to study with. Some people have formed bigger groups, I work better with smaller groups, so it's just her and me and it has worked out great throughout the semester. I highly recommend that because it also keeps you motivated as well as helps you out with studying. There are no tutors, but professors are usually very willing to meet with you outside of class to go over things you're struggling with or need a little more material on.

I just have to take chem 2 this summer, but am taking it at a community college which is 5 min from my house, and incredibly helpful for my schedule. I recall in an earlier post, you noted that you had to take pre-reqs right before beginning. I was just curious what is considered an "acceptable" grade as I find chemistry challenging but always try my hardest!! Obviously I am going to do my best but I was just curious. Thanks in advance! :)

Ahhhhh!!! So excited for you :) Congratulations!!!

You've been accepted already so I believe you only technically have to make a C or better to remain accepted into the program. I think usually anywhere in the B range is more "acceptable", but again not necessary for pre-reqs.

I am actually a health administration student at Regis that just realized that I am interested in the direct entry program. I have a meeting today to discuss the program-is it even possible to be accepted this late in the game?? All of my prerequs are complete, my undergrad was in Behav. Neuroscience.

Hi Chan5587,

The class for next year is full right now. However, they may still be accepting people for their waitlist (not sure though) in which case you can get off of that all the way up through August! Just depends on what slots open up and what not.

I'm interested in applying to their RN-BS-MS program (pediatrics) for the spring semester. Is there anyone who can give me some information as to how tough it is? How many people did you lose after the first semester/year? I know they've had their problems with their BSN program in the past but haven't heard anything about their bridge or MSN program. Can someone share information please?
