Hi, I am new to this forum and I am wondering if anyone has graduated from mcc in lowell the 2 year rn program. Also if anyone is in the middle of the program or applying for it. I am applying for 2010 evening program. I completed my prereqs already. Didn't know if anyone had any thoughts bout it. Also what is a good bsn program to follow through with. Please reply with any thoughts or comments. Thanks. Erin

Thats good, Have you tried calling & seeing if they think you have a good chance to start Fall2010? Also, do they have the night program that starts in JAN like the day ? If your application was complete in March & it says they are still accepting applications for fall2010 night program , I would guess you have a pretty good chance. .. Thanks, Can't believe Thanksgiving is overr already, time goes by so fast.. Can't wait for JAN to get lettters I hope we get IN for fall2010 soooooo bad.

I might email the admissions director next week, I'm kind of intimidated to do so. Night weekend courses are only in the fall to start. Day students are lucky to have the option of fall or spring. I was reading a book I got at barnes and noble called fundamentals made easy by the incredibly easy book series. It has good info about what we will get into. I always go into the bookstore and read the nursing books in the medical section.

You should e-mail them, or call the school & ask to speak to someone about your nursing application and they will transfer you over to the actually nursing advsior ( I have done this many times) .. just to touch base see what they think my odds are of starting in fall etc.. That is funny you mentioned B&N I always go there also. I got chicken soul for the nurses soul.. but an informational book is a great idea, ill have to check that out. (Just nervous it might confuse me, but cant hurt to read through)

I guess it won't hurt to try to contact them. I read the chicken soup nurse books 1 and 2. They were really good. I wish someone else would apply to our thread so we could form a little mcc 2010 group. It would be cool if we invented a study group if we get in. :)

Ya, let me know if you try calling.. That would be awesome, I am sure once we start the program we meet a lot of people & can show them this website and get a study group together , I am sure we all will have questions and info to share :stdnrsrck:

Have you tried calling yet? I went to B&N last night to look at nursing books. I found that Fundamentals of Nursing book: made incredibly easy book! I love it, it seems like a really great book. I have only read through the first couple of pages but I am excited to read it !!.. I know you are not taking any classes this semester but it has been the fastest semester EVER. I have an exam on the 14th then the final on the 17th & then im done w mirco & I feel like it just started(crazy how time flys.) I have to buckle down and study hard for the next 2 weeks then I can't wait to have free time to read this fund. nur book thanks for telling me about it! :nurse:

Ur welcome... it is a good book. Soooo I called and spoke with the nursing admissions director and she said I am a qualified candidate but... there were many other applicants before me as well as people waitlisted from last years evening program and they are just about full already for 2010. That means I will get a letter saying I am accepted but I will be waitlisted for 2010 and probably get in 2011! Can u believe that. I wanted to die. There are so many people who applied for the evening program who can't do days. She said the letters are going out in dec/jan with the decisions. So it sounds like I might be accepted, but will have to still wait! Aahhhh I'm goona die.. I could even get a call in the end of the summer saying a spot opened up for fall 2010, or not. So I am really going to be playing the waiting game. This totally stinks. I don't know why they would still be accepting apps for 2010 evening class tho. That will lead people on. Oh well I just have to wait for the letter I guess. Glad u got the book. Good luck with ur final u wiil do good!

WOW. I really can't believe that. I thought a year & a half was redic.. nevermind 2 and a half years. The waitlist really is getting out of control. I hope that you get a spot!!!!!! goodluck!.. I hope they send the letters out sooner then later , it is driving me nuts , I want to know so bad. Ya that is weird it still says on the website "accepting applications for fall2010" if its already full, hmm. Hopefully you will get a spot or someone will decline there spot and you will get offered it!!

I hope they send the letters out around christmas, that would be nice.. well I can hope for the best and cross my fingers that I do get in for 2010. Having to wait until 2011 is sooooo long; but I will wait if I have too. Maybe someone will not be able to accept their spot and I can slide right in. Fingers crossed... I hope you get, I don't think the wait was as demanding for the day program. She seemed nice over the phone, friendly but couldn't spill all the beans..lol. hey as long as it says "accepted" on my letter, I will wait. In less than 2 months we will have our answer yippee!

I know right, the waiting game stinks--but as long as it happens it's ok. Yes, I feel the same way on the phone with her , super nice , gives you info. but not enough.. def. can't spill the beans (I wish.) ha .. Keep me posted :) goodluck!

Ok so I just got an email from the admissions director, get this, I will be waiting until atleast 2012 for admittance into the program! She said people from 2007 just got accepted into 2010 classes. She said the 2011 evening class is already picked too so I have a 2 1/2 year wait!! I can't believe this. What am I gonna do now? The day classes don't have that long of a wait so she suggested I switch to days but there is no possible way I can do that. I am really bummed out. By the time I start, u will be just about done the program. Oh man. ;(
