Hi there. I'm just trying to figure out if i have a chance to even get into the program or not so I'm looking to see what people who got into the nursing program had for gpa/teas scores/ pre-req grades/ how many times you applied before you got in.

I'm looking at probably a 3.5 cumulative gpa. B in A&P one, A in Drug calc, B in Chemistry. I haven't taking the TEAs yet but i'd like to know what i'm aiming for. I was told that there are about 80 seats for each semester and that they receive about 250 applicants, however that many people don't do too well on the TEAs reading section because the school has a lot of international students and the test administered in english only, so that will help my chances.

Theres not recommendations or interviews. they look at your cumulative GPA and your grades in pre-reqs, and your TEAs scores ONLY.

Thanks

I heard uo to 800 ppl apply per cycle and only 40 people per shift are selected.. Im worried about math.. I also havent taken the teas.. But as long as we study we should b able to get in.. In looking at fall 2012

There are no interviews in nursing.. Its all based on grades

Unlike respiratory therapist

hi there. yeah i don't think its 800. i talked to the one of the people who does nursing admissions at bhcc, since he collects all the applications i trust his word at about 270 and that there are 80 spots each semester, approximately. which makes sense since everyone should either be graduating from the program or dropping out of it since if you get less than a C in a nursing class, you're out of it and there are only 4 nursing courses anyhow. i was trying to squeeze my application in for spring 2012, but i think i'm going to end up applying when you are...fall 2012. i'm going to try and have all my corequisites done too so that i can apply to the day, evening and weekend programs rather than just the day program and i know they give priority to those who have completed their co-reqs.

i still need a math class to take chemistry and drug calculations which i was planning on doing this summer but they are not offering science or math courses the second summer session which is a huge bummer.

so thusfar i've taken A&P1...how far along are you?

i'm also worried about math... i placed in mat094. i've never been good at it so i've been avoiding it. is english your first language? you'd get an advantage on the reading section.

by the way... Northern Essex Community College in haverhill offers TEAS classes as non-credit classes...its about $150 for the class i think. i don't know if BHCC offers it i don't think they do. it might be worth looking into, i'll probably attend TEAS classes before i take the test myself.

I think you should have no problem, I have a year left in the nursing program, when I applied I still had lots of co-requisites to get done. I'm sure they look at grades for A&P, drug calc, and the TEAS try to apply for all the programs, you'll have a better chance. The day program usually takes students with all their co-requisites done, and a high GPA. Which is funny because last semester the day and weekend program had the most people fail the second semester, and our evening program only lost 2 people. The evening program rules :)

interesting, i have be told NUMEROUS times and i believe its also written in the colleges' catalogue that the evening and weekend program is ONLY for students that have completed their co-req's and that the day program was for those who may not have had all their co-reqs done.

its really not surprising that i was told and read the wrong info tho b/c this school is pretty much a ****** most of the time when you're trying to find info or otherwise. if it weren't for the price and the professors i'd be long gone.

I'm attending BHCC in the fall and yes for the weekend program all prerequisites and co requisites must be completed but not for the evening program. I have people that are going to be in the evening program with me that have yet to even complete APII and Human Growth. If you have good grades in your prereqs like at least a 3.0 and do decent on your teas you will be fine. My friend has a 3.3 gpa and did not do all that great on her teas but she got in via waitlist. She finished all her prereqs and coreqs so they seem to like that.

Hi, are you in the evening program at Bunker Hill. If you are do you like it?

Hello! I'm applying for the program too. Did anyone in recent got accepted with 78% TEAS score?
