by larry bird Dec 7, '05Hello guys. I'm new here, and I will be starting my job in cambridge. I'm in the process of looking for a 1-2 bedroom apartment. I've talked to one of the agent and offered me 2 properties. one is a 1 bedroom flat in Belmont costing 1150 us dollars and the other one is a 2 bedroom apartment near harvard costing 1600us dollars. Just like to ask if it is really that expensive to live in cambridge area or thats the normal rate in boston.I'll be coming from London, so I have no idea and have not seen the place yet. Just basing it from photos being sent thru email. And is the electricity/water bill there is expensive?I mean hope you could quote per month how much you pay for the rent and bills. I know everybody is different just want a rough gauge. Hope somebody there in boston could shed some lights with regards to this. thanks, have a nice day.And last thing, is Cambridge a nice place?

- Dec 11, '05 by jells1026Hey, just wanted to let you know those are pretty avarage rates for rent in Cambridge........for the most part Cambridge is a great area to leave in with great shops, lots of diversity and fun activities. Check out craigslist.org if you'd like to compare rent prices...good luck!
