ok, So I have been looking at text books a bit closer and I am a bit confused. I was on the Barnes and Noble site and I am finding the books but not the year I need. For instance, I see the fundamentals of Nursing but the date it has is 2006, the list we have says 2008. What am I missing? I shouldn't be looking at things like this, this late!!

Anyone taking any summer classes? I am taking Eng Comp II, thats the last general academic I need. Yahoo!!

When you are looking up the books, it is more important to pay attention to the edition and title - they messed up on some of the dates
978-0-7817-8157-2 - book
978-0-7817-6407-0 - study guide
978-0-7817-7465-9 - clinical nursing skills
978-0-7817-6986-0 - handbook of nursing diagnosis

These are the lippincott books.

Yeah I noticed that they had a lot of the dates wrong, but I just made sure I had the right edition #s.

As for summer classes, I'm toying with the idea of taking a 6 week online anatomy & physiology course online through STCC. I last took A&P I & II in 2005/2006, so it's safe to say I don't remember much of it.. and I'd like to have it fresh in my mind when I start in the fall so I don't have to keep looking a million things up as I go along studying. BUT, I do wish I could just enjoy my summer and not worry about school..

I don't think STCC has an online A&P course? If they do it might not be the one for science/health majors. The courses for A&P are Biol-132 and Biol-232. I know that with certain professors, these are "web-assisted" but you still have to go to class almost everyday. The Biol-148 class is principles of A&P and from what I hear is just a brief overview and wound not be very helpful. In my nursing class, we have quite a few people that have not taken A&P in years and they seem to do fine. The prof give you a general overview of what you need to know - which is nothing like the stuff you had to learn in A&P! The first semester especially, you spend alot of time trying to think like a nurse, not as much time on the Pathophysiology. If anything, I would recommend getting an A&P study book NOT taking the class..but that's my

That ^^^ was the one I found. Through the Center of Business & Technology at STCC.

Thanks for the input! I'm leaning more towards not taking it now, I guess. I still have my Anatomy text book, and a few other supplemental/study guides.. so I guess I should be alright if I need to look something up..

Oh..that is through the CBC I think. Iread the syllabus and definetly would not bother, it is a survey course. Really, even though they empahsized A&P so much, I don't think you will have to look anything up, I think you will be fine! Good Luck

Thanks for the advice, that takes a load off my back. I was worried that we would need A&P pretty fresh in our minds.

Tero.. in the other STCC thread you mentioned you took out a 18,000 loan through Sallie Mae to pay off bills and live off of.. was that a private loan or a student loan? I am looking to do something similar so I don't have to work, but I'm not sure exactly what I'm looking for.

Sallie Mae is a private loan. I am not sure if they work with STCC anymore, but you could easily tell from their website I would think. I was torn between them and Chase (one of our credit card companies) that also does private student loans but ended up going through Sallie Mae due to a lower interest rate. I googled private student loan initially and then narrowed it down by visiting the federal student loan website to get more information about private loans - I figured that the government might have objective information on wh was a reputable company...maybe??
