Where do you park if you don't get a parking pass? I would assume that there isn't enough parking there for all the students?

The only place I'm aware of that you can park is Pearl street, around lot 2 and the back entrance of STCC. Normally there is plenty of spaces available earlier around 8. But as it gets to be around 10, there really isn't any visable spots that I can see most of the time. I have used a different car, other than my own that has the parking decal, and parked on Pearl Street a couple of times. I was able to find a spot, but these were times I had there to be there for 8 or left early to be there around 9.

There are 5 parking lots for STCC students. Lots 1 and 2 are the most convenient for us nursing students! The other lots have a shuttle that bring students back and forth.

Wow! I'm glad I found this thread.

Does anyone know how many books we'll use during the first semester? I read through the booklist and I wasn't sure.

When we were given the book list last year, they marked off the books we wouldn't need till Spring semester. Which were just Maternity and Pediatics I believe. All the others, you should be using. Note that some on that list should be study guides. In all honesty, I can't say I really opened up the Psychiatric or Pharmacology book. But my weakest area according to this recent Hesi was Psych, so maybe that's why!

That seems to be the same as this year, then. By any chance do you remember how much they cost, all together? I have one of the pocket guides but it seems I'll have to buy all the rest.

Those that bought them through the bookstore spent about $1000.

I searched around for the cheapest prices of each individual book.. and I paid a little more than $700 on 12/17 of the books, plus a few extra ones that i found highly recommended on this site. I got the barnes and noble membership card and it saved me about $80.. every bit counts! Some of the books were much cheaper on amazon.com, even with the B&N membership discount, so I bought some off that site too.

I figured the Barnes and Noble membership can't be the cheapest way, especially with their shipping rates. So I did a lot of searching, and found my books that showed what the best rates/shipping were. That was for my text books anyways, then I bought the rest that would be used for clinical on my PDA through Skyscape. I think I ended up spending somewhere btw $600-$700 for everything. But others said they spend $500 with Barnes and Nobles, so I guess I lost afterall even with all that time consuming searching!
