Yeah that makes me nervous, too.. I can't imagine how that must feel for those students!

Honestly, when I saw you incoming freshman comment on the STCC forums I though "They have no idea what they are in for" because it is a very demanding program. Much more demanding that I thought it'd be, in fact I think I need to seek anxiety medication during the break for next semester! LoL. But, I do think you get used to all the work. You figure out what works for you and how to balance everything. Once the semester starts, don't slack. Get started on any work because once clinical starts, you might find yourself pretty busy. So try to do the first few sections in your lab manual before clinical starts, or just select sections the week of your exams. I didn't do this the first semester, but certainly did for the second.

How was orientation??

Nursingstudent10 gives good advice. Get ahead on whatever you can. Do the readings over the summer you will be thankful when all the other work...clinical assignments/lab workbook/paper are due!

I do have a facebook, PM me :-)

orientation was good, nice to see several men there. I am feeling like I have sooo much to accomplish before school even starts. I have had a headache since the pop math test this afternoon. Gonna play with my dogs for a bit to clear my head then start searching for my books. =)

Yeah orientation was good, but there is so much to process and deal with before school, like kab said. I've been looking at book prices since I got home.. comparing prices between Barnes & Noble and Amazon.. No matter what it's going to be ridiculously expensive!

Pop math quiz?!?!?!?

I got all my books from Barnes and Noble and bought a membership card...I saved what I spent on the card after buying just one book. It's so worth it. I did the side by side comparison of the 2 places last year :-)

Yes! Pop math quiz.. I got 2 wrong out of the 6 ): But a lot of people around me did a lot worse..

There are some of the books with years/editions that I can't find at all on either website..

I liked that we got to try on and order our uniforms-- I remember reading on here that everyone had trouble/annoyances getting them the last few weeks of the summer.

Also, I'm on facebook, anyone PM me if you want!

Wow we didn't have a pop math quiz last year or get to try on uniforms! I got all of my books for about $500, mostly from the publishers but also borders.com - all with free shipping. I know that it was like $1000 through the bookstore. If they told you to buy DVD, I would recommend passing on them (my personal opinion) the same stuff is on utube and come with the online tools with the website to the book.
www.fadavis.com
www.lww.com (if you have more than one book to buy, you can call the number on their website and they will build a package for you that you saving you even more)

Thanks for all those sites!

Does anyone know if we are required to buy an Ultrascope stethescope, or is that just the kind they have available for us at the bookstore?
