Re: STCC Nursing Fall 2009
If you paid full price for the docunotes and nutri notes, I would return them for now. You will need the drug guide and tabers pretty early on (not sure if the school is supplying that for you guys with the pda??) It sounds like other than that you have what you will need for the first week. Hope this helps, good luck!
You will need the psych book, since psych related stuff is not in the fundamentals book but can probably wait a week or so without a problem, same as the pharm...we had a big pharmacology section pretty quick into the semester but it wasn't the first day or anything. We didn't use the med-surg book much until nursinjg 202, same as the old maternity book - no maternity lectures until nurs202, no pediatrics until nursing 302 - so the pedi book can most definetly wait as well.
FYI though, all of the books are available behind the counter at the library (including the dvd's) you can't check them out but can easily study there if needed. A couple of the books (older editions) are also upstairs in the library.

There is a traffic advisory on the homepage of STCC. Did anyone else see it? The traffic around there is pretty bad.
What books would you experienced Students think we need right away. I don't have all my books yet. Money has been tight and I am still waiting for financial aid to come through. I am trying not to use charge cards but I may have too. I didn't think financial aid would take this long.
I have the Fundamentals book and study guide, nursing diagnosis and handbook, the dvds, lab kit, docunotes, nutri notes. the stcc handbook. I am thinking I may need the med surg and pharmacology ones soon as well.
