Thumbs down Re: STCC Nursing Fall 2009
Okay this is the deal. I emailed for my parking pass in early May. I was told then, and kept an email from them telling me my request would be processed. I have a financial school loan pending with a deferment. I replied to them several times about the parking pass with no replies with all my information. School starts Tuesday. Still no parking pass. What the heck do I do now? Where do I park? School isn't open untill Tuesday. Seems to me the parking debt for the college really screwed alot of students this year. If anyone is in the same boat as me...get there early!! A student I know paid the tuition in full ASAP and still to this day, no pass.

I don't know what is going on with Campus Police/Parking this semester but they can't seem to get it together. If your first class is 8am or 7am then you should be all set and be able to park on Pearl Street without a problem. If it's later the street becomes lined with cars and you could have to park way down the street by the Springfield Police Station if you can even find a spot at all. The Campus Police Bldg (where you would need to go about the sticker problem) will be PACKED!!!! I remember walking by it the first few days last Fall and the line was out the door and into the parking lot. Good luck I hope they get you a sticker quickly!!!

I talked with campus police last week. I was told that an outside company mails the parking decals and that for some reason or another they are way behind in mailing them out. When they looked up my student ID it showed that I was assigned a lot. STCC police/lot attendants are aware that there is an issue with the mailing of decals this year and wont be turning away students the first week of school in lots 3 and 4. She said if you have a decal from last year to go ahead and park in that lot on Tuesday, the lot attendants will let you in, if you do not have a decal from last year then go to lot 3 or 4 on Tuesday. It would be best to get there early because you wont want to be late for class.

Hope this helps

Good to know that about the parking lots!!! It's always a good idea to get there earlier especially if you are in any lot besides 1 and 2 because then you have to rely on the shuttle. I haven't been in one of the shuttle lots in awhile but they used to only run 1-2 buses per lot and they only fit like 20 students on them, maybe less.

Good luck to the incoming Freshman and I'm looking forward to seeing all my fellow Seniors in a few days!

I was in there yesterday picking up my scan card and I heard the parking person tell the woman in front of me that you can pretty much park anywhere for the first week of school, as they won't be checking for decals.

Does anyone know if you are in lot 1 will you need a decal in addition to the electronic scan card?

Yes, I will have to make sure I am really early since I am in LOT 4. Know is it open parking for anyone on Pearl St?? You don't need a decal or anything, first come, first serve??? This would be great because I could be there by 7:30 am and be so much closer than being in Lot 4.

Do you get the same LOT every semester or can you try to change next year? Please, tell me yes!! LOL
