Hi everyone,
I was thinking the same thing about the scholarship. Was that something that you applied for or were you offered it. I was told that I had to wait until i fill out this years fafsa, which can't be until I get my taxes back at the end of January. Did you all already fill out your fafsa? I am just so confused bc it is a lot of money and I need to start figuring out how i'm gonna pay for everthing!!! Any words of advice????

Hi,
I was accepted to Simmons College for the 2 year accelerated BSN program. I also applied to MGH for the BSN program and havent heard anything from them yet. MGH is my first choice. I called them today and they said I would hear by the end of the week. I am getting nervous, hearing all of the responses from people who have been accepted. Did your acceptance letters come in a big envelope?
Has anyone else not heard from MGH yet? I really hope I get in!!

Mav,

The letters came in a 5X7 envelope & I also received a personal phone call before the letter arrived. I would think this is a good sign for you because I know a couple of people who didn't get in. I would guess that you might be on the wait list? Good luck! Fingers are crossed for you.

Hello Everyone,

I didn't apply for the scholarship, it was offered. When you apply to the school you are automatically considered for the scholarship. Like AlyRNtobe, I also got a phone call from the school saying I was accepted and also a recipient of the scholarship. I have yet to file for financial aid or anything. However, I will be going after that "free money" to make some things happen.

Mav, my letter came in a 5x7 envelope also. From what I could gather, the first round letter went out (obviously) and second round will be going out during the first week on Jan. I'm guessing they wanted to see who was going to accept their 'invite' to see how much space was available, then send out second round letters. Hopefully, you will be in that lucky group!!

My fingers are crossed for you!

AlyRNtobe,

Sorry I didn't see your comment till after I last posted. I got the scholarship but just applying to the school; everyone is considered. I received $15,000 to be distributed over the 3 semesters, which is $5,000 every semester. Considering the program is $12,000/semester, that leaves me having to compensate for the $7,000 that is left over as well as living expenses.

I can completely relate to not wanting to take out any private loans. I still have loans to pay off from my other undergraduate education. If anything I suggest looking into outside scholarships; I mean they have them for people who are left-handed!!

I was accepted to Simmons College Accelerated BSN program. It's also a great program, it will just take a little longer than MGH. Those are the only 2 schools I applied to.

Do you think it's okay to call and ask about when letters will be sent? I don't want to annoy anyone, but it is SO hard waiting...
