Thanks for the info Keke.....JMarie - I am freaking out. Its hard not to think about it but basically I have everything riding on getting accepted. I can not wait another year to re-apply.

Keke - If you dont mind me asking.....Did you have a great high school transcript and did you have any college transcripts? I did good in high school but not so much in college and I never finished. I know that Mr yavarow said to include college transcripts but I dont know if that will hurt or help me. I was planning on explaining how different I was then (prob over 15 yrs ago) than now, but you said someone else is the one who accepts/rejects? I dont think that is fair since we are not even meeting that person. What do you guys think about me includung the college transcripts?

Thanks to everyone who has replied to all of my questions!!! It is great that we have this message board - I dont know what I would do if I had no place to vent!

Smile Re: Greater Lowell Tech
Hi,

I wasn't a great student in H.S.,. I wouldn't even say I was a good one. I did take college courses and did okay.

I can relate to wanting to explain myself in the interview process. I felt the exact same way. I had so much riding on this. Here I am forty years old and doing a complete change of careers. I felt like on paper I looked like a weak applicant and felt that if I could meet with and talk with someone they would see my determination. I never had a chance to talk much about myself and my situation but who knows maybe that was just an off day. Prisi is having her interview tomorrow and maybe her experience will be different.

As far as submitting your college transcripts....that is a tough one. I think if you passed the classes with a C or better I would submit them.

While you are waiting for your results get your 3 references and your letter ready (if you haven't already) so that when you have your interview they will have everything they need to make their decision. I mailed in my references and my letter so that they would have it to look over before I got there.

Good luck and PRISI let us know how your interview goes.

Susan- I know what you mean. Same here - If I do not make it into the program I will have to sell my house and in todays market is somethng i do NOT want to have to do...
I do not know what to say in regards to your college transcripts- I know what you mean High school I did poorly in Physical education hahaha I hung out with the nurse during gym class and talked to her! And in college my math shot me down so bad because I tried 1 class 4 times...It is quite embarrassing honestly. I say if we make it to where we are getting interviewed I am counting my blessings and like keke said showing your true self and your determination accounts for alot.

Prisi GOOD LUCK!

Keke- 1 question did they say when you would be notified after interview in regards to time- about whether or not youve been accepted? thanks again!

OKAYYY!!! So I went on the interview today and it was long and very informative!!!
They just basically tells you everything about the program. From how mandatory attendance is to how costly the program is and everything in between!! Needless to say competition at this point is FIERCE and that's why there are so many people taking the tests. They start testing in December and hardly anyone applies that early making it easier (somewhat) to get accepted at that point.
And he mentioned that they only have 18 slots left and about 50 interviews to go!!
And he also very much stressed the fact that since competition is so insane, that people who don't make it in this year should really try again next year. Not getting in doesn't mean you're not good enough, just that others are more qualified. He was very nice about it, not like a jerk or anything.
So I'm crossing every finger and every limb in my body and hoping for the very best outcome!!!

jamarie24~ I took the test at the end of March had my interview in April and found out that I got accepted about the first week of May.

PrisiRN2b~ Glad to hear your interview went well. Although they have 18 spots to fill I wouldn't be surpirsed if that number goes up as it gets closer to payment time. I have paid my $500.00 and now need to send in my check for $3,000.00 by July 1, 2009 or I will automatically be dropped.
That expense may be too much for some people during this difficult economy. Right now I just have to pay it and know that come next June it will be money well spent!

Talk to you soon!

I am using my wedding fund for this..I have been saving for 3 years and have a little over $3,000...all my savings would be going into this of course well spent ... I keep thinking about what everyone is saying...and that I took last test there was so I have possibly hurt my chances by doing that... I am venting so pardon me.... I am somewhat nauseous... I might go crazy waiting... I guess I should start to figure out a plan B so I am totally not in the deep end if I do not get accepted which is clearly a very good possibility...ughh.....For those that did get accepted do you mind if I ask what your NET score was? Of course you do not have to say but I am curious... I need to get a hobby in the meantime...this may be the longets month of my life thus far!.......

oh and you said only 18 spots left and 50 interviews to go but that is not including my groups session...add another 50 on top of that...coz they dont know NET scores and 18 spots maybe 9 night and 9 day? so Out of 100 people only 9 will be picked...my chances are getting slimmer and its only been 3 days since the test...wow...I am sure I am not helping anyone who is waiting like me! sorry!!!! Anyone else have an other information they can provide or there experience for GL TECHS LPN Program?? I do this to myself I know...

Jamrie24~ stay positive! Maybe he was estimating the amount of interviews that he had to do based on that testing group and yours. If it was just that testing group then that would mean that pretty much everyone in that testing group passed the NET and the essay. I don't think they would offer it that many times throughout the year it it had that high of a passing rate. IMHO I think once you pass the NET your odds are pretty good.

They also said that they have a letter stating that you are accepted and one that states you are being put on a waiting list. He said that they go to the waiting list once someone fails to pay the $500.

Its so hard waiting when something is so important to us and we can't control the outcome! I know for me it just drives me crazy, but be positive...I think you will all be just fine.

Off to my daughter's dance recital rehersal and then the recital tomorrow! Spring is so crazy with sports and end of the year activities.....bring on summer!
