UMSON BSN Spring 2014

U.S.A. Maryland

Published

Hi everyone! I created the BSN Fall 2013 topic, but I couldn't apply at that time due to family issues. So now I'm applying for Spring 2014! Anyone else applying? :]

cpatterson i've also been waitlisted as well!

Well hopefully were near the top!

I am also wait listed.

So happy to hear you guys got "wait listed" as a oppose to "rejected" my fingers are crossed for u guys.

I am wait listed for shady grove as well but it's better than being rejected

i have to admit it was extremely difficult to wait, but i am a bit relieved that we still have a shot at seats. now, here's to wishing for a short wait for us "waitlisted" people. let's do this!

I wish all the best for all of you who are on the wait list. My status is still at 'Committee Ready'. Am I the only one here waiting?

I think grey lady has said before only about 15 - 20 students are waitlisted for SG campus. Im on waitlist for baltimore and have no idea how many people are with me. I am curious why they dont let you know where on the waitlist you are, any insight on that?

So I have a coupon to get $40 off on any kindle tablet or e-reader. Debating if I should get an e-reader, since I have been having headaches from looking at a computer screen and as a scribe I work by looking at a computer screen for basically 8 hour straight. Any suggestions if this is a good buy? Also, anyone have any advice about renting the textbooks? I feel like as a nursing student we should have all the books on hand all the time? And whoever wrote about the Barnes and Noble Nook Study: THANK YOU!! The site looks awesome and can't wait to use it. Kind of wish I had a coupon for a nook instead :p

"What devices can I read an eTextbook on?

eTextbooks purchased from Barnes & Noble are meant to be read on your computer via our NOOK Study application. You cannot use your NOOK or mobile device to read textbooks as the screens are too small to properly view the contents."

nookstudy seems to be meant for use via an actual computer (PC or mac) only. so, it would't matter if you own an actual nook ereader, despite the program being called NOOKstudy.

A little late to the party, but congrats on all the new 'positive' admission statuses out there!

I've been watching posts but hadn't logged in. The one day I don't and all the juicy news bits come out- lol.

Poor Nsmu! I hope you get admitted big-time! You've been waiting so long!;)

The topic of using an electronic tablet came up a week or two ago. I decided not to buy anything, and just stick with my desktop computer. Personally, I like using a pen and note pad because I found that act of writing helps commit information to memory. I tried out the Nook when I was in town, and I felt like the highlighting and shuffling around was not as user friendly as my old fashioned methods. Also, I did not find that tablets would save money - even in the long run. Just my .002! Best of luck to everyone!
