"Complete and ready for review" means that everything is there. You should not be worried but you can call the office of admissions if that will make you feel better. It takes a long time to move all the applicant files to the "Committee Ready" status which indicates they have been doublechecked again for all needed documents and organized/prepared for the admissions committee analysis.

I have a question for GreyLady - I received an email from the admissions office saying that i needed to earn a 3 credit elective by the beginning of the fall semester if I am accepted. Should I wait to see if I am accepted before earning the credit or should I do it asap? I'm not sure if the email is an indication of my application being considered or if this is just somethng they send everyone with outstanding credits. I was stupid to assume a 2 credit elective and a 1 credit elective equalled a 3 credit elective.

    Hello Grey Lady,

I also received an email similar to JulieBeans about an outstanding requirement. They said that I need to take EN 109 at MC. The issue is that I am not at MC anymore because I transferred to UMCP. I have taken EN190 and I am currently taking ENGL 395 (Writing for Medical Professionals) at CP. Would any of these count towards my English 2 requirement? UMCP doesn't offer an EN109 class. For them, if you do not get an A in English 2, you have to take a Professional writing course (ENGL 300+).

I actually emailed the admissions office back with questions about which courses fulfilled the requirement and received a email back right away. I'd email them your question. Also, if your current English course does not fill the requirement, you can test out of courses and earn credits through the CLEP or DSST.

Thanks Julie I actually did email them back, but they never said what the equivalent course would be for UMCP. They just repeated that I have to take EN109 at MC. What are CLEP and DSST?

Isn't EN109 "Writing for Business and Technology"? The CLEP stands for College Level Examination Program and the DSST stands for DANTES Subject Standardized Tests.

I'm not sure why you would specifically need to take EN109. For my English Prereqs I just took college English I and II - it sounds like you're taking an even more advanced course.

Interesting. I know I have outstanding courses also, but I haven't received an email about it yet.

Have both of your apps changed to "committee ready"?

Mine still says "complete and ready for review"

My status still says Complete and Ready for Review. I may have received that email because I indicated a 2 credit and 1 credit elective in place of a 3 credit elective on the prequisite checklist. If you left spots empty or indicated you were in the process of earning a credit or planning on it, they may not have deemed it necessary to inform you of outstanding prereqs.

I don't have a list of UMCP classes which will fulfill the English requirements - you should contact the office of admissions to be sure the classes you are taking are the right ones. The MC course numbers are totally separate from the UMCP course numbers. Right now only about 20% of applicants are at the "Committee Ready" status. All the rest are either "Complete & Ready for Review" or "Requirements Outstanding". You should only be concerned if you are Requirements Outstanding.

Grey Lady, does those who are at the " Committee Ready" has a better chance to get the result earlier? Do you know why they are earlier at the " Committee Ready"? Thanks so much!
