Has anyone else applied?...what were your TEASE scores?

Hi Grey Lady,

Was wondering if you know when MS applicants will find out if they have be admitted?

Thanks!

Congrats to you all for getting in, I hope I can be in your shoes for fall 2011.

Hi Greylady,

I was told that we could pay deposit online. How/where do we go to do that? I assume we'd have to receive the package (with all the info) first, correct?

I would like very much to get an idea about school schedule so I can speak to my nurse manager and manage to still work part-time at the hospital.

Last question for now is when exactly is the orientation for Shady Grove? I have planned and purchased air tickets for vacation for Jan 12-21 since last summer. I need to know if I need to make a change on my trip.

Thank you so much.

Hey Everyone!

Congrats to all of you that have been accepted! I am a current first semester CNL student at the Baltimore campus. I would be more than happy to answer any questions you all may have.

I am afraid I don't know anything about the MS admissions process - sorry. I am pretty sure that each MS specialty is handled separately.

I am sure that when you get your acceptance letter and deposit request it will be VERY clear how to do that - with a credit card I would imagine.

The schedule is very tough for those who work. You will be spending 50 - 60 hours a week on school and that includes lectures, labs, open lab practice time, clinical skills testing, and your first clinical. We recommend that you not work at all but if you have to, limit it to a day or two on the weekends at most and hope your employer can be extremely flexible about studying for Monday exams. Look around this site to see other students' perspectives and I think you will see this is true. I have seen students try to work 20 or more hours and they rarely succeed - many end up being dismissed or having to drop classes. It's a grueling two years - you don't want to extend it if you can help it - but once done you'll graduate with one of the best nursing educations in the country and a set of lifelong friends.

The Orientation for Shady Grove BSN students is January 13 and 14 so I am afraid that will interfere with your plans. If you can change them, you should. Orientation is something you do not want to miss - if you do you are really going to feel out of it for a couple of weeks which is stress nobody needs. If you would like to contact me directly by phone I can explain more. If your offer is provisional your documentation of your last transcripts must be received by the first day of Orientation. If you can't get that done by then you should contact the admissions people right away to see what can be done. Our campus is open to the public, so you may visit any time and get yourself oriented. What you will miss, which cannot be re-created for you is getting to meet and know your classmates, hearing the Student Panel of current and former students about what nursing student life is really like, participating in two really helpful workshops geared to nursing students, meeting your faculty, lab tours and more.

Can't wait to meet you!

Ms. Grey Lady,

Has all the BSN spots been filled for the Spring 2011 semester? my status still says committee ready, and i am wondering if I should unfortunately accept one of my other offers.

Yeah it's 15 posts to unlock PMs.
