New nurses in Harford County MD

U.S.A. Maryland

I have been accepted into the Nursing Program. I am hearing that a starting salary for a new graduate after passing the NCLEX is around $25 an hour in Harford County. Is anyone from this area and know anything about starting salaries for nurses with an ADN?

Congratulations on your acceptance! What program will you be attending? I have a friend who graduating from HCC's first weekend/evening class last August and she had difficulty finding a job. She finally found a job this past Feb and makes 30.00/hr, and works in LTC. What worries me since I was accepted to HCC's fall traditional program, is that there are still many of her classmates that still haven't found jobs.

Specializes in ED.

I graduated from HCC in 2009 and it took up to a year for classmates to find a job. What helped me was working as a CNA and then a student nurse extern at the local hospitals while I was in school. As a new grad, I started out around $25/hour I believe.

Hello I graduated from CCBC In may but I live in Harford county.

The job market for ADNs is rough. I was very lucky to get hired at St.Agnes but many of my classmates still don't have jobs in a hospital. I have heard LTC is easier to get into ... Work as a nurse intern/CNA as soon as you complete fundamentals to get your foot in the door.

25 is around what my base pay is for new grad RN.
