Specializes in ICU / PCU / Telemetry / Oncology.

Does anyone know what the typical nurse/patient ratios are @ JH (the main hospital downtown, not Bayview)? Particularly med-surg and telemetry units, but stepdown units as well, thanks!

Bump. Anyone?

Specializes in Medical Surgical.

I'm not sure, but I do know JHU is very intense to work for. I'll try to ask my classmates that went there.

Thanks Bunnybop, would really appreciate that. I am aiming to get a travel assignment there.

Hello all! I am interviewing at JHH on a cardiac tele floor (Nelson 7) and osler 5. It's my first nursing interview and I'm hoping fir some advice and maybe info on the floors if you have it

Specializes in Oncology/Haemetology/HIV.

I work at JHUH, but not in the units that you name.

I do not know the ratios there, but I will say that the ratios in my department for my speciality, are much better than any other hospital in which I have worked, barring the NIH.

I was a traveler and have been an RN for 21 years, and have worked or done assignments in 18 facilities, 5 of whom are consistently listed as in the top 15 in the nation.

Perhaps that helps?

Cardiac tele is a unit I'd be interested in working, similar to where I am now. Good luck with that one!

Hi Silverlining15, you should send me a PM. I work on one of the floors mentioned! ;) Ratios for medicine/tele - 3-4:1 during day (up to)5:1 nights/weekend.

Just in case any one else looks at this thread and wonders:

medicine IMC (MPCU): 2-3:1
