"Grey Area?"

Well, this is what I've heard a couple nurse recruiters call my current position. What do you do when u are no longer a new grad (I graduated May 2010 with my BSN) but have less than a year exp (I have only 5 months)? I was told by JHH nurse recruiter that I couldn't apply at their hospital because I'm in this "grey area" and that once I get more than a year experience, I could then apply. What am I supposed to do until then? I have been applying everywhere since March. Where do I go from here?
