Can new grads work in hospice?
Register Today!- by Pokytrokyt Nov 14, '11I'm a new graduate nurse, already licensed in MD. Can I work straight out of school in a hospice setting, with no prior experience?
Thanks for feedback!

- Nov 14, '11 by dasburyRNMy understanding is that you need at least a year of experience to work in hospice.

So you can work in hospice right after you're done with school, I think you just have to find the right facility. I'm loving my job so far but inpatient offers a lot of support that you don't get in home care hospice where I believe you need the experience first.
