I hate to ask this but I'm taking BIO 110 at CCBC Catonsville in fall and someone told me ABSOLUTELY do not take Karen Dalton's class for this or A&P I or II. Anyone had first-hand experience or heard anything? I am a good student, but I don't need a hassle...I just want to get through these classes and apply to the RN program.

I had Mrs. Dalton back when I took 110. She's just plain miserable. I got an A in her class...but she was the nastiest, moodiest instructor I have EVER had. Only good thing I can say about her is that she made me a better studier.

She doesn't teach either of the A+P's though

I had Dalton and she is a really good teacher. She lacks personality and she is tough and very anal, but you learn ALOT from her. I say if you can deal with the fact that she is there to teach and not be your friend, you will do just fine. I'll tell you who not to take, Mr. Hargrove. He's not a good teacher and he absolutely can not stay on topic what so ever. You might as well take an online class fooling with him.

My experience with Dalton was UNBEARABLE! I didn't have her as a teacher, as she "blocked" me from going into A&P1 at CCBC. She claimed I didn't have the proper Biology, and that I would "Fail miserably." How supportive. Anyhow, I am now accepted at CCBC and Harford CC programs, received A's in both A&P's, and scored in the 95th% for the HAPS exam (a national cummulative A&P exam created by the Human anatony & physiology society.) Out of over 10,000 test takers only 200 of us nationwide received A's. Can't wait to email Dalton about it.

Good for you, I'd send her a hard copy! FWIW I've had good luck with a couple of CCBC department heads that let me slide into Stats and A&P2, I also got As in both classes.
