Good luck to everyone who's waiting to hear from UMB. I am in the accelerated program, we just started the semester this week. At orientation they told us they had over 800 applicants for the fall semester. There are a total of 185 students in my class, and 55 students of those 185 are accelerated.

The first semester seems like it'll be really difficult - not so much because the classes are that tough in terms of content, but there's so much to keep track of and do on a weekly basis. I'm not used to taking 18 credits at once and keeping track of what's due when and what to read in which classes and what I need to bring to the labs. But it seems like if you have good time management skills, you will do fine.

BigMona,

That was really helpful information! Good luck with everything and keep us posted as to how you are handling the program. Have you any idea how many they will be looking to accept for the Spring class Tradtional/Accelerated?

Jennifer,

This past spring they took 13 out of 85 total students into the accelerated program. But my class of 180-190 is 1/2 accelerated. Since they only took 55 accelerated this fall, my guess is that they'll take more than they did last January.

The January accelerated students take Adult health over the summer with the Fall accelerated students, and they need to have room for everyone.

Awesome!!!! And especially on your scholarship!!! Thank you. I wish I knew more about how this whole process works. I applied for the Traditional program. This is my first bachelors degree. I'm hanging in there. It is difficult. I did wait till almost the end of August. Not quite as long a wait as yours. Anyway...CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maryland also offers nursing scholarships if you agree to work in the state for a year or two after you graduate.

Can you please tell me where to find information about this and similar scholarships that come with a job?

Thanks!
