Hey, I'm just starting my second semester of RN school (OB and Med/Surg) and am the only guy in the class. Not only that but all my instructors have been women and all the staff nurses I have worked with are female also. I was starting to feel like the only man in the world who wanted to be a nurse until I saw this site. Thanks guys.

    You are most welcome.

That is why a forum like this is here.

We, as men, need to know that other men are not only in this field too, but that others are also coming in to it as well...like yourself.

Hope to see you posting some more.

    Make yourself at home.

    Hey All,

I am looking for information on the Health Alliance in Cincinnati, Ohio. I am specifically looking for info on St Lukes West. Is it a good place to work? and are the units team oriented? Any info would help. I graduate in May and will apply there if it is a goos place.

    Thanks,
    Street Doc.

Hey, Just saying Hi. This is my first post here (i think). I'm just starting my first semester of pre-reqs here, having fun already, but the atmosphere (spent the last 9 months in construction) will take some getting used to :-p. I'm really glad this board is here. Looking forward to getting to know you guys.

Hey fellas. I'm a 26 yr old in my 2nd semester of a 4 semester accel BSN program in Northern VA. So far I've completed Psych rotations and am now doing 2 Med/Surg rotations this semester. Summer will be Peds/OB and Med/surg 3. Fall will be community and externship. I'm looking at either peds/ob for career. Not a big Med/Surg fan. I am enjoying it but it can get frustrating at times. Luckily I have a mix of progressive and "old school" nursing instructors which is good. I heard some horror stories about nurses eating their young. That hasn't happened yet at school.
If anyone has info on who has the best loan repayment programs (state or hospital) let me know. I took some to pay for this program and am willing to work ANYWHERE!!!

Hi all, I'm a 2nd semester BSN stud at the University of Southern MS. Three guys in a class of 30. This is sort of my 2nd career (I'm a furloughed American Airlines pilot). So far, so good, though it's taken some getting used to. Really the only time I've felt out of place is in Labor & Delivery, where the ladies were frankly a little nonplussed to have me around.

I joined the forums because my "Mother/Baby" project this semester is the internet and how useful/not-useful it is for student nurses. I'm glad I found this site, though; I think I'll be here way past when my project is complete!
