    Hello

I am a first year nursing student in Oklahoma. In out class we have 34. I am the only male in my class. There has been several times this year I wish I with some other guys, but I guess most men do not think nursing is a male profession.

Go for it guys! We could use a few more males in corrections nursing. I was an LPN for 24 years recently graduated from an ADN program and currently licensed as an RN in NY. I work for the NYS Dept. of Corrections, been there for 6 years. I invite you all to corrections nursing when you finish. Go GUYS!

I just found out my nursing school never recieved my High school transcript, therefore I was not screened for the class of 06..

Needless to say im pretty pissed.

What a suckfest. My school was the same way -- had to call them constantly and remind them that I exist. They didn't exactly make a good impression.

So I guess I'm going to use this next year to take classes that I will need for the RN to BSN at the school I plan to get that at and maybe enroll in a BS in Healthcare Management program online.

I'm really sorry to hear that Agent. Don't give up on the dream though. In the long run the joy you will get from nursing will far outweigh this type of mishap. Keep the faith!

Just heard. What a freakin' bummer!!!

One lesson I've learned through the years though has been to keep on top of stuff that I'm really interested in. Exactly for the above reasons. Schools are so mobbed with paparwork right now it's easy to see how this could happen.

Sounds like you'll be maximizing the time in the interim. Smart choice... thinking long-term!

    Good luck!

Is there another school you could try? I know my ADN program and a local BSN program are both just about to start testing for admission to their programs to start next January.

Waiting an extra year would be worth it in the long run but it really sucks right now.

    I'm keeping my head up.

I know I CAN get accepted.. its just a matter of time, so why not use the time wisely and get myself setup for maximum graduate earning potential.
