I'm in a (12month) Accelerated BSN program at University of Miami. 11m/54f (65 total) ratio. I'm single and older than most in my cohort. but that's from working as a EMT/Cardiology Tech for the past 10years prior. I received my BS in General Science and initially thought I wanted to go the Physician Assistant route. But as I've noticed how the healthcare system of America is evolving such that the Nurse and specifically the Nurse practitioners are going to be responsible for delivery of primary care to our communities. Future goals I intend to apply to a FNP program. Great to see us all here.

Hi All!

I'm a crazy father of 2 ex-premed who just recently turned down Northwestern to go into a RN program.

I already have an Associate in Science, but I'll be getting another ADN and then go to a 4 yr school.

When I went to an info session about the RN program ill be trying to get into, out of like 70 ppl only 5 were guys.

So I want to know are there any men out there?

I am a male pre-nursing student too . We are pretty similar have my AS-Science, except no kids. I am going to a BSN. We have very few guys, just the reality of the situation. A few years back my nurse gave me the advice that as a prior service military and MALE, that I would flourish in the field of nursing. I enrolled shortly after.
