I had a 4.0 when I entered the nursing program. That promptly went right out the window once in the program, along with my being hard on myself when I don't make 100 on tests. Nursing school is great for humbling you and lowering your expectations for yourself.

My motto now is: C = Continue.

3.6 GPA as of right now all things considered.

Not a male student, just browsing when I read your post. I laughed sooo hard. Completly know how you feel. 3.5 going into this RN/BSN program, now a 3.27 (my school does not round up). Graduate in Dec. 08 and looking forward to working w/pay! (one word---clinicals)

Thanks for the laugh!
Hope you grauduate soon.

3.01.. thanks to my previous A.A .. if my math serves me right I'll finish all my pre-requisites with a 3.15-3.2

I'm very persistent! I know i'll make it somehow!

Cheers.

Yes, and "B's get degrees."

I was just like you. I was four-oh on entry and got my first B in first-quarter nursing theory. Ouch! It was the worst Christmas ever. I didn't quit, but only just.

I like your point that NS is a very humbling experience. Since I gave up my pursuit of perfection, my life has become much simpler and my grades have actually gone up. I finally got my A in theory in the Spring.

I don't see any "perfection" in clinicals. I see lots of "pretty good" with moments of "freakin' awesome" but none of the nurses are flawless. That's why I like the team approach. There's always somebody there to remember what I forgot.

I finished with a 3.44. Yep, that "C = degree" from my BS bit me hard transferring credits.

My Associate Degree (graduated back in 1981...ok, I am dating myself:8) was 2.9. BSN was 3.89 (in 1997), and finally, for my MSN was 3.95 (in 2005). I guess I got smarter and worked harder as I grew older...Hey, that is a sign of an adult learner!
