Nursing Isn't our place?

Roy, I agree...life is too short to work a job that you hate. And there are so many options, so why *would* someone stay in nursing if they didn't like it? Or, anyway job...

And I think you said the qoute right...I can't remember it exactly either, but I know exactly which one you are talking about. :d

Negativism is a positive thing in my view.

A lot of people whine because they want someone to whine with them; misery loves company. When I hear something negative about nursing or the job, I use it as a learning experience. Someone whining about thier job or day lets me know what to avoid, not job wise but attitude wise. If someone says the job is terrible, I see it as meaning that they have a bad attitude and they are really saying is; I am miserable, and thus anything I do, no matter what it is, will still make me whine.

In other words the person is saying I am a sorry SOB do not be like me.

Well, in life, you'll always run accross people that are, enbittered, resentfull and whatnot. But we should not be so quick to judge them, not to the point of getting the lady fired for a petty set of resentful comments . Did she somehow fail to provide the care your grandmother needed? You'll need to develop a thicker skin than that, and be more merciful and gracious to those who offend you. Believe me: you'll get a LOT of offenses from doctors, collegues, patients and patients families and you won't always be able to get them fired.
