I've been a nighter for 3-4 years....
I have darkened room tinting on my bedroom windows.
I eat a half bag of popcorn or 2 pieces of WW toast with PB before bed.
I sleep from 7A-3P when I'm working(5-5:30 shift), up at 1PM if I'm not.
I expect my fiance to respect my sleep and not wake me up until I have to...or until my alarm goes off.
I stay busy, checking charts, asking if others need help, and cut out caffene by 2am.
I usually write out my day report at 3am....nothing really changes except PRNs at that time...
good luck!

Job lined up on a cardiac unit working 7 - 7 which means your probably working 3 or 4 days a week as a new grad in a horrible economy. I would say your pretty lucky my friend. Congrats! Oh and working the 7 - 7 can be a pain but you will get used to it after a bit, trust me. Good luck!
